I, too, like the way this looks. I might try it myself. I have a question regarding the micarta: Does it make the micarta material more vulnerable if the outer layers on the edges like that are ground off, exposing the inside? In other words, is there a coating or anything like that on the outside of the micarta that is being compromised here?
Or is micarta such that it's protective/resilient properties are the same throughout the entire thickness of the scale? It's not going to absorb water, rot, breakdown, whatever more on the parts that have been ground vs the untouched parts?
