Does anyone know about this hardness tester. How to use it? I have read the manual a few times and can not figure it out. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The photo doesn't show enough detail, and you didn't link any info or the manual.

I hope that isn't an Rockwell A scale tester.

I hope that isn't an Rockwell A scale tester.

I found the item on the sales site and the seller stated the following to address a question:
"Thanks for the interest and according to manual, the outer circle gives you a reading in Vickers and the inner blue circle gives you the reading in Rockwell "C". Not sure if it is diamond, the manual calls the tip an "indenter" and I have one photo trying to show it. Let me know if you have more questions."

Well I can tell you that basically units like that work by raising the platform assemblies up as close to the indenter as possible and keep your blade to be checked between the platform and the indenter, and you turn the wheel on the left side of that unit til it squeezes the piec of steel and then usually there is a secondary lever or switch that you engage to leverage the weights inside the tester and it moves forward (or downward) a slight amount and then you move the lever again usually the other way and it fully engages the indenter, and then it springs back given you a reading of the difference which is the hardness reading.

This is just based on having used similar units, but as others have mentioned linking the manual will give us more intel.
