Re-Blacken Lanyard Tube?

On my new PM2 Tanto I noticed the rim of the black lanyard tube is a bit shiney silver on one side vs the other.

Anyone have any tips/tricks to re-blacken the exposed metal? Does gun-Blue work?

"Dupli-Color Scratch Fix All-in-1: Universal Flat Black" (comes in a pen style tube with brush dispenser). This is a metal paint used in car repair so it's about the most durable "paint" that you can find. Should do the trick.

Gun blue never quite worked for me. More durable solutions like DLC coating or black oxide isn't worth the effort given the small job you have.
