Re-discovering the Manix.

I just recieved the Manix and Mini Manix as part of the passaround. They both feel great, and after I sharpened them they really impressed me on a bit of cardboard work. The Manix is a bit old, with the standard screws, no bug on the blade, signs of hard use, and different jimping than the newer Mini Manix. I am wondering if the newer Manix's have the different jimping on them like the Mini Manix. I actually prefer that jimping, but I love the ergo's of the full size model. I can easily see myself buying one real soon.

IIRC, the Mini Manix still has different jimping (smaller and closer together)than a new full-sized one. I actually prefer the wider spaced-out jimping. It seems to give better traction for the thumb, especially while wearing gloves- just a personal preference though.
As far as ergos go for the Mini Manix, it's one well-built knife (think brick sh*thouse!!) I don't have the Full-Sized yet, but I'll get around to buying it someday. Another not on the Mini is that I feel the blade is almost too small for such a wonderfully-built handle. I guess that is part of the magic recipe for EDC success though!
