Good Day,
I re-finished this new Iltis Camping Hatchet to look old. The handle is stained and finished with multiple steps to create an antique appearance. The head has been blued for a traditional look, and waxed for longevity.
The head weighs 600 grams or 1.33 pounds. The hatchet is 14.5 inches overall, and the face measures just over 4 inches, and it measures 5.75 inches edge to hammer face..
I made the sheath from 12 ounce vegetable tanned cowhide, it includes a full welt wedged to give the proper shape for the head of the hatchet, with a drain hole in the corner. Closure is with a cord, in this case a bit of leather, but it could easily be traded out for something more robust if that was your preference. The back of the sheath has four holes to allow a cord to be threaded so that you could tie it to a belt or harness. The sheath is waxed externally and oiled internally for best results. This very well may be the stoutest hatchet sheath I have every seen, it will not fall apart on you.

Sheath
Together....
Before it is shipped, I will give the the buyer the choice of another coat of bluing for a more durable finish, but the current bluing has a very nice delicate color that would be perfect if you wanted this for a collection.
$150 plus $10 for shipping.
