Re-hardening SS???

What happened if I rehardening a stainless steel blade? I mean if you screwed up an SS, could you start again from the beginning?

You need to run an annealing cycle first then reharden.

And nothing gonna harm the steel? Could I call an SS as a forgiving steel?

I never make a knife from SS yet. But till today all I know is, if you make a mistake on a carbon steel you just starting all over again from the start. Is this applicable to SS also?
