Fontenille Pataud CAPUCHADOU 10 cm with Buffalo Bark Handle with leather sheath This is the Guilloché version. (Read more below.)

This knife & sheath - have been sparingly used.
This has been exclusively a dress carry for me. Has been sharpened and has cut stuff but well cared for - never abused - and still is way more new than used. I would call this in HIGH EXCELLENT condition. If I hadn't sharpened it, I would call it pristine, and my asking price would reflect that.

I would "prefer" to keep sheath & knife together but my resolve on that point is crumbling ;) - The sheath fits the swell of the knife handle AND will comfortably carry many other stout traditional multi blade knives that folded, are less than 4" long.

Set up for vertical or horizontal carry. Sheath details can be seen here - Sheath Details.

Technical aspects: The spring is made from 3 mm thick stainless steel Z20c13 and features a blade-stop that helps maintain the edge of the blade. The "Shamrock" as well as the handle's top are hand-chased with a file: This denotes artisan quality, unlike mass market knives that have welded springs and are machine decorated. The file work details create a unique knife, making each knife one of a kind.

Guilloche:
The Guilloché series IS AN UPGRADE FROM "CLASSIC" costing about 27% more. Guilloché features additional chiseling of the spring, liners top & bottom. The shamrock and the spring of this knife are forged from one piece of stainless steel. The shamrock also features a genuine carnelian gemstone in its center.

Handle Material: Buffalo Bark (outside of the horn), Africa.
Blade: 3" / 7.62 cm long 3 mm thick made of Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel - 56 Hrc.
Plates & bolster: 1.2 mm thick plates and 4 mm thick stainless front bolster.
Size and weight: Handle 10 cm (3.93") Open: 6.75" - 17.14 cm Approx. 90 grams (3.17 oz.)

Consider this: This knife is entirely hand made in Europe's capital of cutlery "Thiers."

HERE IS AN EXCELLENT VIDEO about this style of knife -
