I sent this Q a while back to admins, got no response. I have a knife listed for sale (see sig) and want to re list it. I have read the rules below. So there's no bumping of a thread. So, to say do a price drop and get the thread back to the top, the thread with the listing must be deleted, then a new thread posted? If so, how do I remove the thread? I have looked on the back end editing options, tools bars, etc and can't find that option. I'm sure it's right under my big nose, but I don't see it. Please advise, and or correct me on the above so I don't make additional newbie mistakes.

  1. You must wait 14 days (2 week rule) to relist an item for the second time. Once you list an item for sale, that item cannot appear for a second time in a sales thread until 2 weeks have passed from the date of the original thread. Any changes made to your existing sales thread (withdrawing, editing price, etc.) must be made to that thread, don't start new threads with the same items. Use a calendar if you need to. You can link your sales threads to your signature space, but don't make it a giant billboard.

Bumping threads or "BTTT" in the sales sections has been disabled due to abuse. See #9 above for clarification.

First time i have posted the Q in any forum. I'd PM admin directly a while ago without a response. Gets confusing around here. Mods, please move as needed, and or let me know how to proceed with my Q above.

I believe you cannot delete a thread. You just wait 14 days and repost your for-sale item and it's at the top again, for awhile anyway. Wait another 14 days, repost again with the correct price :) and it's sold!

Still not following. You mean edit the existing thread with new price, etc? Past editing of the thread didn't see it back to the top, so I'm still tad confused here. Or, post the same thing a second time as a new thread with new price?

You can't "bump" threads anymore. That feature is disabled. Wait two weeks, close the old thread, then relist your item in a new thread. That won't remove the old thread but it will close it to new replies.

Once you post the new thread, it'll start up at the top of the list and move down as new threads are added.

You can adjust the price in the sales thread anytime just by editing the thread. You can then edit the thread title to show a price reduction, but it won't bump to the top again.

All of this is listed in the rules for the sales forums linked at the top of the page.

Best way I can think of to deal with the old thread is Go to thread tools and edit the title as relisted. You can remove the content or not. You also could lock the old thread and mark relisted.
You will need to start a new thread if you want to move back to the front of the line(after 2 weeks)
If you want to just change the price you can do that with edit and just leave the thread in the position it is in, but to move to the top a new thread is needed

That's what I will do then, thanx. Just trying to follow the rules of the forum. ;)
