re- wet forming a store bought sheath?

as the title says, I am looking at a finished sheath on line and was wondering if it is possible to soak it in warm water and wet form it to my mora knife? there is no real shape to it now...

I would try holding it under HOT running water just long enough to get it wet so it is pliable...stick the knife in and mold it to the leather with your fingers...
I don't believe it's necessary to actually soak it through and through.

Thanks for your help, so you dont see any problems with a sheath that has already been finished? the hot water will make it re-formable again to my knife?
