Reaching Ones Busse Nirvana

The equation is not that simple. There's having INFI, and there's USING INFI. The real pleasure is in the using. Of course it's nice to have a, erm, variety of blades to choose from to make the using that much more enjoyable.

Since I got the Smooth Bolt Meaner recently, I think I've finally rounded out my collection to include every size category I'm interested in. I could see shuffling a few knives in and out where new offerings provide minor refinements, but I don't think there's any application not represented where I would want to add something. Maybe a really small one like a Culti or Muskrat or Skeleton Key.

If anything, I have a few more than I need, and should move some out.

I'm pretty well set.
I've got multiples of my two favorite.
SHSH & SHBA.

Maybe I'll reach it someday but I'm not there with my INFI holdings yet.:)

Really the only other knives that catch my attention are slip joints. I'll say Horton and Okuden have a few that get me thinking but I haven't done anything about those yet.

Come to think of it I can probably count the number of knives I've bought on three fingers since 04 that haven't been Busse family blades.

I'd say I'm more in limbo than nirvana. I try not to let my "collection" get too large, since I can only use one or two knives at a time, so I tend to sell a few, buy a few, sell a few, buy a few, and so on...

I just sold a few, so maybe I'm supposed to buy a few now?

I have the urge to have two of each of my favorites, a user and a queen.

Kinda like one for work and one for church.

Mulder alluded to this above.

Anyone else have the same inkling in order to maintain the steel sense of well-being?

I do that whenever possible. Sometimes it even goes as far as "a pair and a spare" just for the heck of it.:D:thumbup:

Oh no, say Bye, Bye to the kids college funds.;)

Lol.

In all serious, seeing what's happening with global energy prices and the economy, I think spending your kids college money on knives may actually be a good investment. In 5 years from now who knows if the infrastructure to support colleges will even exist.

THe great thing is I am usually always happy until the next release;)

THen, I am only happy once I have it too:)

I'm happy with the Heavy Heart I got at Easton PA. and the BA my friend Mike gave me. I'm waiting anxiously for a hoped for production of the Killa Zilla, ideally to include a combat grade version, and I'm still mulling the Bushwhacker. I guess I shouldn't mull too long....So, no, I have not yet achieved Infi Nirvana...

It's getting close, especially since I got SAR8 LE #94 to go along with FBM LE #94 and SAR4 LE #94, not to mention a satin/tigerhide GW and a satin/tigerhide Culti. Also have as my EDCs a couple GW LEs, a satin/green linen GW and satin/green linen BAD combo, and Lep GW and Lep AD combo.

Now if I can only find Sus Scrofa LE #94...

Yup,

Once I got a "HOOD by Busse Combat" a few years ago, I was content.

I still dabble a bit and am always looking for a big chopper that fits my hand better than my SHBM or my SHSH.

Yeh...I reached that spot a little while back, so my toy monies (whatever I have had) have gone in other directions.

I'm good with my EU Desert Mojo, SFNOLE, SHBA, Cultie and Warden...and ALL are users. (Don't tell Jaime:D)

I'm pretty close. Ruck, Silent Knight and an Off Duty are on the "wish list" if you know what I mean. ;) The Bussmuk would get me all excited again and I have faith that Jerry will design something in the future that'll get me all excited. :D

I reached it at one time but those pesky monthly bank statements cured that right quick. I just have a couple left from the picture below and a couple others.

I felt pretty good until the satin/black paper SAR8 came up . . .

I'm done for.
