I don't know if the mods want to keep this here or not but I've read a few GBU threads that start out poorly, and have titles claiming someone is a thief or scammer, etc, and turn out to be a misunderstanding.

read the whole thread guys. if it turns out to be a misunderstanding and works out in the end, and all you read is the title and say F this guy, you could miss out on a good transaction.

That's a good point -- and if the thread is so long you don't want to read it all at least look at the end and see how it came out.

because some smith's never get right with the folks they owe ie alan blades and joe chen.

Good advice, it's also a good idea to do a search on a users name in other sections, particulary Whine & Cheese, before doing business with them. Sometime threads get moved there because of nutcase behaviour.

Benjamin Franklin said it best, "An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest."

Keith, no you don't! You just find out the next iteration. Even when it gets resolved, if you miss that post, the thread goes on for four pages of "follow through" that doesn't always tell you what happened four pages ago! It's like these mammoth threads have a momentum that is independent of outcome.

...but I can't stop reading them!!!!!

All My Bad Trades!
The Dishonest and the Restless!
One Life to Remove (from the guy who ripped me off)!
General Hospital (for the knife maker who won't return my calls)!

...and Keith, your name is on every fourth post! Go to work! Get married and have kids! Take up the priesthood!

Yeah, Couger Allen's right, Keith. Just pick one. Although some have combined two or more but......
