Ready for my next knife purchase

I'm not sure how a PM2, let alone any Golden, CO Spyderco feels cheap compared to a RAT 1 or nylon mini grip??? But to each their own.

Spyderco really has the ~$100-$120 market cornered, with the Manix 2, PM2, Chaparral, Para 3, Native 5, and so on.

I'd suggest something like a Ferrum Forge/Massdrop Gent or Crux.

I'm not sure, it might be the weight and how thin it is. It just doesnt feel good in my hands or sturdy/comfortable.

It is an off the shelf Cold Steel boot knife sheath called The Peace Maker.
Even comes with a free knife for like $25 ;) :p
PS: doesn't dull the edge like that piece of :poop: the Pendleton Hunter comes with.
PPS: careful how you hold it when you draw the knife; you want your hand well down on the sheath body and not up at the gap for the opening. Other wise it's slice up the fingers time.

That is a weird grind. o_O:D

I would agree with going to a fixed blade. Because when you say “I'm going to abuse the heck out of this thing, indoor and outdoor.” And say that you’re looking for an abuse knife, I would not recommend a folder. My Strider DB in 3V seems very indestructible and is an ideal size for edc IMO.

For that budget I would get a Cold Steel American Lawman, shop around and you can still get one in XHP.

For a folder I would suggest a Buck 110. Damn things are solid. For a fixed blade I would go ESEE. Good luck and be safe.

The Bradford Guardian3 is also a great choice for an edc fixed blade and is in your price range:thumbsup:
I've had eight of them in various steels...3V, M390 and Vanadis 4E. I would likely push the 3V and Vanadis 4E for your rougher jobs...but these knives will hold up probably better than you will...
BTW, the cross-draw leather sheath (included) is a real blessing... I'm using it MUCH more often than my Slysz Bowie clipped in my pocket.

If you are truly going to abuse the new knife, I'd look at Cold Steel.

My latest along the lines of what you already own is the Benchmade Mini Presidio II which is a manual axis lock and feels really solid in the hand. I don't like to carry really large knives as EDC's as I find the size generally un-necessary for the use. If I need a work knife that's more commonly abused, I get one, but I don't carry it as an EDC. It just stays in my work/field bag available for use when I need it.

Honestly, I agree with him. I know my waved Endura is more of a quality knife, but the RAT just feels better.
