Real Buck knife or counterfeit?

Hi,

Not knowing much of Buck's history, I have a question re: the authenticity of a knife I recently purchased. I'm wondering about its validity because of a difference in the hammer and bolt logo on the side. The first picture is of an older folder, model 303.

The second is of a model 309 Companion folder, and you can see the logo is different. It's also recessed into the handle slightly, maybe 1/32 of an inch.

I hope the pictures show what I'm talking about. Thanks for any insight.

I took a look at the photos and those are both logos we have used at one time or other. I know the first one is older and the one on the 309 is newer but i do not have dates.
Hope this helps,

Joe,

Thanks for the info. I was also wondering, does Buck ever deal "seconds"? I got this knife from an individual in Canada. Like I mentioned, the hammer/bolt shield is recessed into the scale, and the pin on that side sticks out enough that there's a bit of an edge on it. Overall, a nice little pocketknife, though.

Cuchillo,

We do not sell seconds. Every now and then, we sell knives with very slight flaws and they are engraved with the letter "E". THese knives are sold to employees and do not carry a warrantee.
