Real Man's Knife!

ok, my question is did you tell them how much the knives cost or did they already know? my parents would flip if I knew how much I paid for a busse and saw me beating on it:)
 
Liu Kang- the only people who know how much my knives cost are the ones who know what Busse is. Otherwise they don't need to know. Same with my guns.

Mulder- I'll buy the first round. Come on down anytime. As far as I know I'm the only HOG in these parts. It would be nice to meet another.

I think I told my mom how much my custom shop hogfsh cost and her jaw dropped..., my jaw dropped the first time I found out how much busse cost and thought anyone that collected these are just plain crazy. That was about 4 months ago.
 
I had some family visiting a few weeks ago, right around the time a SY Bird Dog LE from the exchange arrived. I was checking out the knife with my younger brother, and I showed my dad and asked him if he wanted something like that (he's an avid fisherman).

His response?

"Naw, I got no need for some stupid expensive $50 knife!"

I didn't bother to mention that I spent twice that, or that it's the cheapest of my recent knife purchases :D

Looks like your folks enjoyed themselves with you up there. Coming from MN they got to enjoy the scenery as the weather is pretty much the same! I used to live in MN, near the Twins myself; spent lots of time bushwhacking around the state, then found out I enjoyed WS alot too!

ID Jarhead, that smile on Pa's face w/ the knife in hand is great! I see a "Go ahead and try and take it back..." look :cool:

Liu Kang- I was in the same boat, but after being on Joe Keeslar's waiting list for 2years and buying one of his Musso Bowie repros collecting became anti-climactic. It is the King of my few safe queens. I look at Busses as my, if I am going to be stuck anywhere knife, I want the best of the best...enter the Battle Mistress:D

ID Jarhead, :thumbup: Nobody knows what my stuff is worth either... the less they know, the better...
 
That is good stuff. You are lucky to have parents who are still together and have a good sense of humor. Looks like they were happy spending time with ya.
