Real of fake Sebenza??

Hey guys. My brother was gifted this knife yesterday. He didn't know what he had until I saw it but now we're thinking it might be a fake of some kind. I'm no sebenza expert so I figured I'd ask. Thanks for the info.

Can you post some more pictures? Looks fake to me from the start but additional pictures would help
 
not to look a gift horse in the mouth but it looks like a copy/clone to me, grind lines and the blade profile are off as is the finish on the scales.

Frames is the wrong metal, the screws are the wrong metal and dont fit flush.

And I am not a Sebenza afficionado.

Also, who gave him the knife?

It'd have to be someone very special to gift a $300+ knife.
 
I vote fake as well.
Screws are wrong, scales don't look like titanium, grind is off, jimping is wrong.
Glad he didn't buy it, at least...

Not sure. He just sent me the pic and asked what kind of knife it was. Even though it's fake it still looks cool I guess. Haha
 
I own one CR knife and comparing to your picture, I think what makes this seem like a fake is that the scale definitely looks like stainless and not Ti. Also the fact that those are torx screws and not hex head screws seems to be a give away that it's a fake.
 
100% fake

The hardware is wrong, the grind is wrong, the thumbstud is wrong, the jimping is wrong, the choil is the wrong shape, the lanyard spacer is different, there shouldn't be a relief on the lockbar, the curves aren't curved enough, the finishes are wrong. Basically, the whole thing is wrong...
 
I'm glad I got my sebenza and zaan before all these clones started .unless you see it in person and know what to look for or get it from a reputable seller,you need to treat buying copied brands like CRK like sports autographs.

I don't think the other pictures will be needed as the others have voiced their opinions. As others said the finish is wrong and the grinds are wrong.
 
If you search "chris reeve stainless steel handle" they come up on sites that sell fakes. Definitely fake.
