Real or fake Buck 110?! Need help!

Better Yet since I am dealing with my own problem. Here is the F.B.I. Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) you can file a complaint with them. False Representation, Inferior Quality, Using a companies name from the U.S.A. Maybe even more.

I just looked at their website and there is a spot to right a review, so give them a black eye. Sorry for the double post, fat fingers

Funny I just looked at the website and they don't take Paypal. Paypal would flush the con man out and have the money returned.

Never heard of Dellsmart either. A quick search locates them in Iowa. I'll send Joe Houser at Buck, Inc. a link to their website and this thread. He seems to have been tasked with shutting down counterfit sales.

Well DeSotoSky I think you have done the right thing. Contacting Joe Houser and having him aware that these crooks are putting a bad mark on the 110 should make him get something done. Oleg I think you might be stuck with 4 chinese made knives. Once bitten twice shy. I am ready to file with the F.B.I. , you should too. I have done many transactions on eBay and from different websites and have been burned only once. That is because I didn't use Paypal. I have used them to reclaim a Payment for a whip I was buying for my nephew. Would you believe that the man is still trying to play nicey with me to borrow money. I don't answer him. Have a GOOD Evening everyone.

I'm not positive and too lazy to search PayPal policies but I believe PayPal has a corporate policy to deny transactions of certain items such as firearms. I would not be surprised if switchblade sales transactions were not allowed. Some sporting goods retailers do not use PayPal because of their anti firearm stance.

First I agree these are fakes. Second contacting the FBI to complain about trademark issues when the knife in question is Illegal to import, sell across state lines, and mail via USPS? I might reconsider that part....Even if they were real Buck knives to start with, those laws apply.

tom19176 you have a very good point that I never thought of. Yesterday I looked up if my state allows automatic knives and it said no. I am not going to file this complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center and wait however long it takes to receive the last knife. Thanks for the info.

Your welcome. We all enjoy different knives, and I wish these laws did not exist, but they do. There was once a dealer on another site that was complaining another dealer was using his pictures to sell the switchblades he was importing and selling over states lines. The first dealer was going to make complaints against the second one and sue him for copy rights issues......Sometimes you need to step back and make sure you are following the laws before seeking those who enforce all laws to help you.

I don't like the grey box, where did that come from. I just had this discussion with an acquaintance and he told me all long oval activation buttons are not made in U.S.A. I have a few, bought from a reputable knife company. I don't like the grey box. Did it come along with the Buck box. Mine ALWAYS had white styrafoam wrapped or a white styrafoam baggie never a plastic bag. My knives have the notch for double action. I really can't say positively, I am only glad I have a few, rest are round buttons. Looking more closely the blades look incorrect. Having looked at thousands of blades from Buck Knives these don't seem to be curved up on the top front. Too straight.

Buck does not make automatic knives so somebody else has had these knives apart. It is what it is. You might ask or someone else might have a opinion. IMHO Fake. I have never seen the sheaths in plastic either. Very oversize button holes, a place for garbage to gather. Not precision for sure. I didn't notice the buttons on the sheaths do not have BUCK on them. The one picture looks like graphite was used to make the blade move more smoothly.

You are replying to a post from 2016… create a new one and the members here would be happy to assist

Hello and welcome to the Buck Forum....did you notice the date? you dug up a 5 year old thread... old information. Michael5135 does not play here anymore. At the time it was true that Buck did not make an automatic. Better to just start a new thread with your question. Yes, Buck makes Autos now, there are legitimate aftermarket conversions of Buck 110's, and Chinese made fakes are still a real issue. You have 2 choices, you can send a picture of the knife in question to Buck directly at counterfit@buckknives.com and wait for a response or you can start a new thread with a picture of it here on this forum. Be sure to include the box and sheath if available. /Roger

sorry. missed the age.
I sure wish the system would automatically lock treads after 2 to 6 months of no activity. After a year with no actiity, at the very least.

Yes I think an archive that is view only no replies for reference only . Maybe 3 months no activity and archive.

well.......

David M. used to bring his farm thread back to active after many months of sitting still. not sure we'd really want to lock every thread down after some time of not used.

DM's farm life thread is a bit different in that it was a "never ending story" or narrative.

I recall the forum policy loose "recommendation" is to not bring forward threads older than 6 months.
It is a loose suggestion and not a hard rule.
Thing is, no one ever reads that stuff, especially newbies.
I guess it's not that big of a deal or frequent, just annoying.
In this case, he quoted old information by someone banned.
Perhaps it would have better not to have said anything to keep this place friendly and welcoming.
Hope he comes back.
