Real Paramilitary 2. Fake package?

Hello fellow knife enthusiasts.

I just purchased a spyderco paramilitary 2 from knifecenter.com and I'm questioning the authenticity. When I first placed the order I noticed a 2-3 month wait for the black dlc paramilitary 2 I'm patient so I placed the order.

Anyway about a day later they have one in stock and shipped it out to me this was the first thing that made me suspicious of a fake. When I opened the box I noticed the barcode is not touching the numbers like a authentic spyderco box like the delica4 I've included.

The plastic is more like a candy wrapper than a plastic bag and the foam is quality but not very thick also the shade of red on the box is a little dark.

So I opened the knife for the first time and it is pretty tight. The g10 is super grippy my finger skips when I rub it like the real deal i heard.the g10 is not rounded and the lock area is rounded too. The dlc feels real not like the paint on a rat 1 or tenacious the lanyard hole is slightly rounded and the hardware is not sharp it looks softly rounded. The blade is scalpel sharp and the tip is needle like. The spyderco trademark hole is pretty sharp but not unfinished. The liner is milled and it looks like it's been milled out not cut with a water jet.

These are some photos of the knife and the very fake looking package. Can anyone confirm my knife not a fake it didn't come with a note but I heard they only do that for the s110v or sprint versions I have a sprint run brown tenacious that came with the letter.

I don't want to send it back over the packaging and I adjusted the pivot and now it's glass smooth I also noted the 10/16 date code on the blade and red locktite spyderco uses.
 
From what i can see it looks like the real deal. An easy way i heard to check for fakes is to look if there is a gap (~3mm) between the foam and the side of the box. Real spydercos have a gap and chinese copies i have seen do not. I'm not an expert on that matter, so take this with a grain of salt, but i think its real.
 
Looks real to me, and I'd be incredibly surprised if Knife center sold you a fake, they're a solid company and I really doubt that kind of thing would slip by them. You should be fine, your PM2 looks legit to me.
 
Edited: I take it all back. The pictures were just weird. Looks good.

The only way i can see knife center possibly selling a fake is if someone bought a fake and a real one and swapped them and returned the fake to Knife center. Post some pics of the whole knife. Theses close ups are too close. Sometimes seeing the knife as a whole helps.
 
Everything looks good to me. Why do you think it is a fake, again? I see no obvious signs. The only photo that threw me was the last one where the screws look black, but that may be lighting. Otherwise, it looks exactly like mine. It would have helped to see the whole knife, though.

The hardware is black but the knife is the Paramilitary 2 s30v dlc black version.
If enough people ask I'll take it apart. The pictures of the g10 are under a jeweler loupe just to show it's not some cheap slippery Chinese G10 it's super aggressive. On regards to the lanyard hole it is very lightly rounded and I can visibly see clean steel where the drill cut away.

The foam is correctly cut but it seems a bit thin compared to my other spyderco foam. Feal spyderco foam is borderline styrofoam it truly feels like legit spyderco foam but just cut thinner than normal.
 
Looks totally legit to me, Both box and knife. I had the same foam in my PM2 box.
Don't break it down. You bought it from Knife Center, and they have an extremely good rep. If you have doubts about it's authenticity return it to KC. They will take it back. They might be a bit offended that you think it's fake though.;)
I can't recall EVER hearing that KC sold a fake anything.

doesnt look fake to me. box or knife. spyderco changes the boxes. the boxes are made in China and im speculating on the boxes but i assume they may change vendors or their vendor may sub out the boxes. why dont ya ask a mod to move your post to the spyderco sub forum where Sal and Kristi owner and employees of spyderco participate. if anyone can verify the box its them.

It is real for sure
The chamfering of the G-10 tells the story the Chinese fakes have more chamfering on the G-10 scales then the one you have got also the DLC versions of the Para2's have blacked out hardware now.

It looks all right-- like another member said, the boxes can vary. On my black/digicam PM2, the box foam was cut weird but the knife was A-ok.
