...they dont have to have visible tusks to be male...it depends on age,genetics, and food sources. ive got a 275# boar head mounted and his tusks( cutters) are only 2.75". he just got big before his teeth did but just like a deer rubs his antlers on a tree, so does hogs. they will actually cut into the tree with their tusk( marking territory).

I recall reading about a gent who hunted a wild boar...He said just before he saw/heard it...he could smell it... :barf:

good looking hog, hawkeye!! that looks alot like one i had mounted....is that s&w mountain gun by chance?? if so i didnt know they made them blued?! good lookin gun ive got a ruger super blackhawk 4 5/8" barrel 44mag.....MAN!! can you feel it!! especially with some hot 240grain solids!

oh trust me that lil ruger has seen its fair share of hogs, big and small! and one doe to be exact but i sorta got burnt out on gun hunting anything...might change one day...but for me nothing is more pure or simple than watching my arrow fly off the shelf of my favorite recurve or longbow.....this knife hunting will just be a one time thing( thats what i told my wife also) -

Bailebr3.That is a Smith &Wesson,mod.29 ,4' barrel.It is an older one that came out a good while before the stainless and mountion guns came out.I have carried a lot of Ruger 44's in the past all 7 1/2" and to me the are a pain to carry while hunting.So I got this 29 and shoot Remington 240gr.sp .very good.better than all my reloads.So I just use it for everything.Snakes ,dillo's ,Deer,hog's or what have you.
Your kalinga should work just fine on hogs for you.But just to be on the safe side.You might be on the lookout for a 120.Just in case.

now we talking,we love to boar hunt here in hawaii,all we use is dog-n-knife its the only way to go,once you try it u never pick up dat bow again..knife size is up to you i hunt with a 8" blade,my father uses a kabar,my tutu(gramps) used a folding buck knife,my freind uses a mod. machete an a butterfly knife.you can stab heart or cut throat..its all placement

F-Dick pig sticker will do what you want. It is designed specifically for pigs. A lot of doggers in Australia use it on some very "big" boars. A lot of Bowhunters use it as well.

alright!! thanks for all the advice guys. im gonna be on the look out for a 120 but i've got some time off now( about to start new job), so im headed out today with the kalinga. im only going to use it on a smaller hog, if we can get one..if not my buddy can try the bigger ones ill give updates
