Real quick question Classic vs Rambler

i couldn't tell you how many branches i've cut with the saw on my Swisschamp. trimming the tree outside my office so i can walk down the stairs without ducking, or cutting back the tree over my driveway, or trimming a branch so it will fit in the back of my truck. i've even used it to cut a hole in drywall at a friend's house pulling cable. i watched my uncle do the same thing at my house when i was younger.

other than the fish scaler(not counting the ruler, which i've used plenty), i'd say i've used every tool on the thing for something at some point in the roughly 17 years that i've carried one. not having to run home, or to my office, or inside for tools has saved me who knows how much time over the years

I must say that i really like having the bigger/tougher driver and caplifters

Okay dudes so I just received my Rambler today! I no doubt chose it over the Classic because of the bottle opener. Again, this will be for very light carry, as in, going to the beach wearing nothing but boardshorts and sandals. So, even though the Rambler is a tiny bit thicker and heavier than the beloved Classic, the bottle opener is an absolute must for beach-going activities.

Here's some photos. I also had it engraved with my initials. Enjoy.

Thats cool. i think that one of these on a keyring, a cadet, and for extra measure through in a sentinial by victorinox would make an awsome edc

I carried a Classic SD for years then "upgraded" to a Rambler....which I carried for a couple weeks then replaced with my old Classic SD.

On my keychain I can tell the difference in thickness and there is nothing I know of that a Classic and a P38 can't handle just as well as a Rambler and I always have a P38 on my ring also.

Just my opinion and experience.

Nice one Jonny, I love my white Rambler as well. Certainly gets carried far more than any of my other 58mm SAKs, and is likely my most carried keyring tool of all the ones I have.
