A month ago i first saw the "cool ninja" knives, and i saw their website, i was extremely excited about my discovery, i looked up "contact us" on the website and i saw springfield office. Guess what? Im from Springfield MO too so i jumped in the car and went there asap. the "manager" said they dont have an open office to the public they sell only online. Then after i asked him to see a knife he showed me most of their models. Felt so cheap in my hand, cheap-ass job and the handle was terrible, not to say about their "wonder" fake ass cheap 420 steel. the powder coating on the knive i could scrape off with my nails, and the camo model had a summer paint job , i bet if i spitted on it and wipe it on my shirt it would've came off. Not to say their knives are exactly like S&W Homeland security. That being said look what i found on Ebay from a china seller who has replicas of good named knives.

So the scam company is buying their china crap from Ebay and resells them for ~ 200$

China typically replicates popular knives. Its hard to say which came out with the design first, China or Black Ops.
China has emulated many designs in the past, this one may be one of those designs.
I truly hope Black Ops is no selling reprocessed crap, but it is a possibility.

Thank you for for sharing your opinion of the knives, I heed your warning. I will steer clear of this brand until unless i hear praise from other reliable forum members. Thanks again for the heads-up

All that writing, it's like the blade comes with it's resume etched into the steel. It's so informative.!!!

Uhh yeah, that's a pretty huge, unsubstantiated leap you're making there. Hey look, Cold Steel knockoffs on ebay-- CS must be buying them all and selling them to the masses because I once bought a CS knife and the blade fell off-- proof positive of a counterfeit conspiracy. 1+1=35!

(( forum rules: let's not be posting ebay links here ))

Huh?

the truth is, they really suck.

if by chance you liked one of their models but not how it was made, you may be able to find it by extrema ratio. dark ops was started by a man who ripped off the designs of extrema ratio.

while the opinon of extrema ratio may not be held in the highest regard by everyone, you at least wont get total garbage.

This is a far more accurate summary of how dorkoops knives came about and operate.

They don't buy stuff on e-bay to sell, I have no idea how you would come to that conclusion. Just about any popular or perceived to be popular knife you can think of is ripped off by Chinese companies....for some reason dorkoops knives are in there too.

While I have no idea what Dark Ops sells now, about 5 years ago my Dad did buy one of their folders (they hadn't been out long, he wanted to check it out) and it certainly wasn't as poorly made as the OP describes. The knife was solid and well finished. You could not scrape the coating off the blade with your fingernail. There was no blade-play when open. It seemed to be a very well made knife, over-all. The knife is now long gone (eBayed away) and having read about how Dark Ops came to be and all the ill-feelings over the brand, we have no desire to ever own another. But, in all honesty the knife was far from being poorly made. Everything was well fitted and on par for a knife selling for around 200. If they are as bad as the OP says now, they sure have changed in the last 5 years.

Wow 200USD???!!!..Here I got my "replica" in the biggest online seller with T for cca. 400RMB (~64USD).
I knew that it cannot be the real thing (as usually happen with Chinese products), but I wanted to give it a try. I compared the pictures from the real one and the Chinese site, and was clear that it was not the real thing (as well as the other models and Rambo I~X machete stuff :D).
When I received it came wrapped in news paper, quite heavy for the original item. Instantaneously I assume that the metal was not by far the same as the pro.jerkit

The funny thing is that after my gf bought it from that site (she's local), the link disappeared...

Totally agree with everything you said. The reason why ER isn't held in high regard by a few people around here comes from their "over the top designs". However they are extremely and I mean EXTREMELY! (no pun intended) well made knives. Super tough and most importantly second to none fit and finish as you would expect from literally anything Italian made.
