Thanks for the replies everyone. I'd like to get a traditional fencing / dueling / sword fighting small sword, the kind designed for thrusting which evolved from the rapier: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Small_sword. The reason is that I'm building a time machine and I plan on travelling back to the mid to late 18th century. I'd like to bring a weapon with me, so a Busse AK47 or a gun would be out of place, I don't want to attract any unwanted attention. So the sword need not only look authentic, but would also need to be battle ready.
