Real World Use 0550 and 0551

Anyone have both these knives and put them through their paces. I am interested in which steel is preferred. For that matter any knives that someone has put to the test with Elmax and s35vn will do. TIA

i havent used either but from what i have heard is that elmax is the toughest stainless made and is pretty amazing stuff.

Well I felt it would be along shot to find someone with both and used hard.

Any reports by owners that have used either steel hard would be be great.

I carry my 0550 every day, my main go to folder. This is honestly the best quality folder I have ever bought. I used it to cut up some old tires over the weekend, it seemed to hold a good edge, till i accidently hit the steel belts in the dam tire. It didnt really do much damage to the blade, considering how hard I was trying to cut through. Just rolled the edge a bit. This s35vn seems good. But I really want some elmax after reading all the reviews about it.

I have a 551 been carrying it every day for months. I strop it maybe once a week, seams to hold a pretty good edge but I don't think it hold a crazy edge or anything... with that said I think it edge holding to sharpening ratio is crazy!!! Use it pretty hard for a week few passes on the corse side of the strop and it's wicked sharp again! I just love that!
