Basic concept is same steel, same heat treat, but a rougher finish and no sheaths to keep costs down and manufacturing speed up. I will be offering these on a more regular basis than my older RAW type blades. I make these intended for knife users who can appreciate a comphy handle and a sharp edge :) These are not given too much attention as far as "pretty" although I have made effort to keep some decent lines on the knives.I will not be taking orders for these so I can retain freedom of thought and not grow stagnant. I will listen to ideas though and try to incorporate them into future designs. As to the specs, all are made from 1/4in thick 5160 with a differentially hardened blade. All the knives are flat ground with black G10 scales with the textured surface left on. All of these share the same price too of $200 plus $10 shipping in CONUS(INTL shipping at added cost and risk). I will accept MO or Paypal+4% for payment. I will be going by EMAIL to determine the "I'll take it" order. I will gladly ship these to the sheathmaker of your choice or I can make a Kydex sheath for them for an additional $45. Now onto the individual specs :)

#1 15in overall with a 9 3/4in blade(tip to handle)***GONE***

#2 16 1/4 overall with a 10in blade(tip to handle)***GONE***

Kydex sheaths are now and option on the Reality Check knives.......Wife talked me into it so thank her :D

Don't know as I don't have one on hand to try. The blade is 1 11/16in at it's widest point though if that helps :)

Folks, I don't know why ya'll are sitting on your hands instead of scrambling to buy one of these. These are one-off custom knives.

I paid for #5 on Monday, Bill made a kydex sheath for it on Tuesday and it was waiting for me when I got home today.

Can't tell where Bill cut any corners on this as the fit & grind are clean, squared spine, grippy micarta and hair shaving sharp. Visible temper line and solid kydex sheath to boot. I may have found my perfect chopper and fighter knife. The big belly blade shape & balance lends itself perfectly to my FMA & Silat studies. This ain't no 'wannabe' knife, this is a big scary sucker that will perform and perform and perform.

Get your own.

Glad you like it :) Like I said in my original post, all that really has been sacrificed is a bit of finish work that saves me time and effort hence the savings I can pass along. Plus it's my way of flipping off the rest of the world actively raising prices :D

Oooo. #5 in a thinner stock like 5/32" or 3/16" would be sweet.

Yes the #5 is heavy...BUT that big belly makes the knife so well balanced that it handles very well. I compared it to a 9" bowie, 10" custom David Wesner camp blade, 9" RD9, 7" BK&T, 11" golok and while it is heavier than some, the "leaf" shape of the blade makes it amazingly workable -more so than a straight blade the same or longer length. Most of the weight is in the belly and since it is closer to the hand, it is fast and responsive -especially for MA applications and is still a brute of a chopper.
