That is the first thing I noticed as well. That is one of my pet peeves with knives. I want the cutting edge to come right up to the handles if at all possible.

Excellent! I like it a lot!
My only thought would be for a slightly longer blade/cutting area, but it seems you have that covered. I prefer a minimum of a 3" cutting blade, but that's just me. Well sometimes, as I look at my sub 3" Buck prince that I am currently toting about.
