I have a Buck 112 LT that I got earlier this year and hardly ever used. I haven't carried or used it because it doesn't close properly. I can push it shut, but unless I actively push it all the way closed, it does not close, and it opens up to about a half inch with just a light bump. It's been this way since I got it, and I'm uncomfortable to carry it. I don't want it coming open in my pocket and cutting my hand or leg open.

I've contacted Buck CS a few times now and they basically say they won't help me unless I send it in, with the paperwork. I could understand that if it were a more expensive knife, or if I'd already had 3 replacements, but it's a $20ish dollar knife. I don't own a printer. By the time I go across town to get the warranty paper printed and then back across town the other way to the post office, then pay shipping and handling, and then wait for 10-12 weeks to get my knife back...
It'll cost me more to send it in than just buying a new one, plus the frustration of waiting.

Basically, yeah, they have a warranty, but it's worthless to me. I've never had an issue with a buck knife before, but I'm super disappointed now...

How have your experiences been? Do you a 112 LT? Is this a common problem?

Every time I get an Lt or slim, I end up giving it away.
I think they are a nice knife for the money, but they really don't impress me.

Can you exchange it where you purchased it?

I poked around, you're a Vet?
I'll print and mail the paperwork to you if I had your address.👍

I wish. I'm pretty sure it was at Bass pro shop that I bought it. That was back around early summer and I never did find the receipt. I guess if they still have them at BP I could buy another and make a swap, but that just feels dishonest...

yep Gpyro is serious and a great fellla.

so Buck wants the purchase receipt for warranty work.....thats new isn't? I'm not liking that corporate decision at all......

No, but I'd need the receipt to return it at Bass Pro and make and exchange.

Buck does require that I print out a warranty paperwork form and have it properly filled out to send it in for warranty. I don't even have a printer or computer. I am only even able to use TA because of my phone.lol

I'm a little shocked...
I thought maybe there was a slim chance that a Buck representative might monitor the forums occasionally and try to reach out and help eventually, but for another member to just offer a gift of kindness... I'm a bit blown away.
You don't see a whole lot of that these days. Really awesome of you GPyro GPyro
