I have a Buck 112 LT that I got earlier this year and hardly ever used. I haven't carried or used it because it doesn't close properly. I can push it shut, but unless I actively push it all the way closed, it does not close, and it opens up to about a half inch with just a light bump. It's been this way since I got it, and I'm uncomfortable to carry it. I don't want it coming open in my pocket and cutting my hand or leg open.
I've contacted Buck CS a few times now and they basically say they won't help me unless I send it in, with the paperwork. I could understand that if it were a more expensive knife, or if I'd already had 3 replacements, but it's a $20ish dollar knife. I don't own a printer. By the time I go across town to get the warranty paper printed and then back across town the other way to the post office, then pay shipping and handling, and then wait for 10-12 weeks to get my knife back...
It'll cost me more to send it in than just buying a new one, plus the frustration of waiting.
Basically, yeah, they have a warranty, but it's worthless to me. I've never had an issue with a buck knife before, but I'm super disappointed now...
How have your experiences been? Do you a 112 LT? Is this a common problem?
