Really happy with my new Gavko

For some reason I am drawn to Mike Gavac's work. I have a midtech and an older custom, so I didn't really need another. This hobby has long taught me to ignore the word "need." This is a custom modified Mako. He auctioned it off on IG a little over a year ago and it somehow found its way to me. I think I am going to be its forever home. I couldn't pass up the price, and it was love at first sight. It opens so smoothly and drops freely. The action is pretty close to my Shirogorov.

Fantastic looking knife. Congrats! Never handled one of Mike's knives but have admired them from afar, through pics and vids :)

Very nice knife!

Not sure how I would sharpen it by hand but...

I thought the same thing. I freehand sharpen, but am still learning. Plus, it currently has a mirrored edge and that is beyond my skill level.

Very nice, love the finish :thumb:
He seems like such a cool guy, its always good to support makers like that.

Good Lookin Blade, Congrats...... In the big picture I agree wholely with you. Many of us here have no real need, Excellent Call TD

A Gavko Mako is my grail knife. If I got one, I could give up collecting and never get another blade...

...for at LEAST a month, maybe more.

Sweet looking work right there brother!!!
Congrats and enjoy it!!

Hahaha... that's true. I hope you give it a good home :)

Thanks!

What a beauty! You don't see too many with that handle style either!

I agree. I feel like this knife has all the little Gavkoesque things that he does all wrapped into one.
