its a novelty bottle opener that can also cut up limes for a corona. relax.

 Good grief! The only thing I can see it doing very well is opening a bottle and I'm not sure it would work well for that. What should a proper knife look like in your opinion?

I knew a used car dealer that used to say, "there ain't a seat out there that some ass won't fit".

I figure that there are a lot of things out there that do not appeal to me, but something like this knife....I bet there is a guy or 50 out there that will see that and not be able to sleep until he owns it!

This makes the third thread I have seen regarding this knife (I hang around a few forums). It is making the rounds and very few forum lurkers will admit to liking it, but I bet there are plenty being sold at gun shows and swap meets.

It's purpose is to be the coolest knife of all time. I'm seriously tempted to sell all my knives and just buy a crate of those.

(kidding) :p

I've had a few Mantis knives, a couple yrs ago. I don't know if they now actually use the steel advertised, but I recall some respected members (I believe STR being one) that questioned &/or tested some of their "better" steels & their HRC were not what was advertised. That brings into question of whether the "nicer" blade steels are really used. This one, however, is advertised as having 400 series stainless steel, so it's not even 440A.

Having said that, Mantis seems to have found a "niche' where they offer designs that aren't, shall be say, terribly practical.

I don't think the design was necessarily meant for killing as you mention, but just something different. They seem to have a model with single edge & double edge, probably for those that can & those that can't legally have them. It doesn't appear to be terribly good at either function that it seems designed for (Bottle opener/knife), but I guess some will find it useful.

This knife's also not real expensive, although it's not "that" cheap either. It's advertised as a G&G Hawk collaboration knife. I'm guessing it's a design other knife manufacturers weren't really interested in. It kind of looks like a gaudy version of Kershaw's ET.

The Klingons are a warlike people. Everything they make looks like it was made for killing. I don't know what you would do with thing on Earth, though. I suppose open beer bottles and fondle it till you cut yourself.

The point is, some ninjas can be fricken AWESOME. Like this one...

That being said; I bet you it also opens the $h!+ out of a beer. It is also a 1.99" balisong, which is legal in California. Imagine the damage someone in Sacramento could do with one of those badboys.
