Really sharp Spyderco fixed blade?

It sounds like you are talking about factory sharpening more than blade design. If you want the sharpest knives “out of the box” then I would recommend you look at the offerings from the Golden factory. Their knives are being robotically sharpened now and the results are phenomenal...as you have noted in your new pm2.
I think the pygmy warrior is the only Golden fixed blade currently.

Thanks! Yes, sharpening is a great teacher of patience! I have certain knives I'm not touching yet. Working up to those.

Spyderco Respect The one I handled was the sharpest out of the box knife I have ever seen.
Sorry, It wasnt Spyderco Respect, It was a Darn Dao. We were talking about the Respect at the time.

I think you’ll like the Sprig.
I’m trying to take sharpening a little more serious myself.
The most important thing I’ve learned so far is patience. I expect too much too quickly.

GB - Here is the first video of four by the guy that started Spyderco. The first product Spyderco sold was a knife sharpener, the Sharpmaker. It is portable, easy to use, and puts a great working edge on almost any folder or other tool that needs sharpening (not for razors though). Enjoy!

I couldn’t agree more, the Sharpmaker is a great sharpener. It’s my current go to sharpener. I added the diamond stones and it helped a great bit. I’m starting to get a pretty decent working edge now.

That's good to hear. I first practiced on kitchen knives when I bought my Sharpmaker. My wife was delighted with the results.
