Really Tough Pen, (kind of like Busse) & NMFBM

1.8oz is still a bit heavy for me. But off the tactical stab-a-bear-thru-the-breastbone pens, this one is tops so far. And cheapest!
 
If the cap some fit the other end somehow when writing, I think this would be the perfect pen for me.
 
Interesting, but I'll take the Ti Hinderer over the Tuff Writer for now :) ...

Excuse me for being so out of it, but what is the use of a pen like that? I can see the reason for super tough knives.. but pens?

Not only is it a pen that can be used in harsh environments (such as military, law enforcement, etc. scenarios) but also doubles as a last ditch self defense item. A cheap made, non heavy duty pen won't hold up to be used as a self defense weapon for very long.
 
What turns me off from these metal clad pens is the twist off cap, personally my favorite is the Surefire pen. Not that it's better, I just prefer a twister better than a cap, a clicky would be king, but it might not be such a great self defense tool with all the fragile parts.

Ha if I were in such a harsh environment that would cause normal pens to snap I think I would hope to have found shelter before I start writing. Aside form that, wouldn't you also need some kind of super tough paper to withstand whatever environment is causing all the forces that is snapping normal pens? :D I do not think I would resort to using a pen as a self defense weapon, at that point if I couldn't find a stick or something sturdy I'd pretty much assume I'm already FUBARd and just give in. Also how long would a normal pen last and how long do you intend to use a pen as a self defense weapon? :p
 
You can take it many places you can't take a knife. Strike someone with a good strong pen and all that force will be concentrated to a single point and it will hurt/put someone down. Take a pen and poke your chest or head and see.

I rely on my size twelves and a good old fashioned knuckle sammich when the going gets tough;):D
 
Hey, a good old Bic worked for Mahh Maymuhh in the first Bourne movie. He took out the guy in his apartment pretty well using it.
