Hello all,
I've just read this in here. " Some steel are better in cutting flesh than others". Has anyone really experimented on this? Would appreciate all experiences or testings regarding this matter.
You all have a good day.

Oh yea peacock, many people are are assassins and trained killers. You should be careful who you offend man.
I think those who made that statement tested their steel on cutting meat (not human, unless your a serial killer). I think animal and human flesh are basically the same when they are cut.

eh, I'm not sure about S30V, it cut me just as deep as 440C has recently:( I've also gotten pretty bad cuts from Carbon V by Cold steel and some random slip joint cheapo steel. The slip joint is the only one that left a scar though... so personally cheap steel has cut me best:rolleyes:

What sort of edge are you looking for (smooth polished or coarse)? Of course edge geometery itself plays a significant role in how a blade cuts.

Dropping ATS-34 on your big toe DOES result in the need for sutures!!!:(

Ira, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only schmo to drop a knife on one'e toe and need sutures! Kinda sucks to see a knife sticking out of the top of your foot, doesn't it?

vg-10 went through my finger like a laser last time it got me(moment of stupidity)... and that was only a 30deg edge on the spydie whites.

I haven't experimented this, but in my experience knife steel cuts flesh the best.

Last summer I was using my Super Knife and cut my finger which required 6 stitches. So, contract grade utility blades work great!

Just yesterday I cut a finger on my newly sharpened 20+ year old Shrade LB7 with their Shrade+ steel ... so it too works great on flesh.

Also, (and I'm a little emabarassed to share this one) I've even got some nasty cuts with paper! You believe it ..... paper!

Those are my most recent tests. I hesitate to share my experiences that are any older than that because the information may not be current enough.

I have a question for the people here that got cut? Are you guys the clumsiest bunch of incompetent fools that always get cut or do you guys just enjoy getting cut? Do you guys like cut yourselves due to a fetish? Do you guys get to ride the "special" bus to school everyday or something? I'm suprised you guys aren't dead yet.

TKD> go buy a real knife and play. you'll soon get cut and understand. sharp steel cuts, it doesn't bounce off skin.

14yrs of knives so far, including 2yrs and 26 aircraft models finished... sharpening since age 5(first one was a 5th bday gift). last time I counted scars on my hands and arms I quit after 30... but the models helped by cutting each finger nice and deep at least once.

TKD,
First off, I don't like being cut. I don't view my own blood with any pleasure at all. That said, I've finshed about 40 knives, and haven't completed a single one without at least getting a minor cut. I did get to the final sharpening on the last one though...:)

Thanks guys for sharing all your experiences. So far it sounds like it is just a MYTH. But Titanium against S30V, would this be a FACT???
