Reason #985 to carry a knife warning graphic

A couple of the local cops will call me if they have to put one down after being hit. I salvage what's good and the bulldog eats well on the rest. Waste not want not!--:)--KV

One of the beautiful things I have come to appreciate about nature is that nothing is ever wasted. If the bulldog doesn't eat the scraps, you could just heave the carcass into the woods and a fox, or coyote family would get it. Buzzards make a damn fine cleanup crew, and whatever is left decomposes and fertilizes the soil for the surrounding plants which then get eaten by herbivores who then get hit by cars so we can have roadkill backstraps...

And the circle of life continues.

Hope the truck is ok. I HAD a Yaris (this past October) and while driving down a backwoods swampy road at night in the rain, I hit a raccoon. A BIG raccoon! Caved in my front bumper and a portion of my hood and, unbeknownst to me, took out the hose to my radiator, so by the time I got to a lighted place to pull over with no alligators, my engine had seized up. Total loss, so I have car payments again. I have a bigger car now, but every squirrel and chipmunk makes me freak out, especially at night. I can't imagine hitting a deer.

I drive a truck with a ranch hand front bumper replacement and have hit many deer without issue.

My friend who hit this deer got a dent in his old gmc trucks front fender but overall it's ok. But he lucked out!

Did you get a Beamer? They can run on woodland animals...

Stitches for that?!?!? Pffft. Spit on it and put a piece of duct tape over it. Good as new! :p

Wow! Must be a challenge to get THAT through the gas line! Is that a regular unleaded woodland animal or diesel? My new VW Passat takes premium fossil fuel, not pre-fossil fuel (i.e. the living breathing type).

SO, really like to see the o.p. backstrap THIS! You'd have to be part surgeon and part mechanic.... And forget the knife, you're gonna need a wrench and some pliers. Good news is, if you like hamburger, just let it idle for a bit and put a basket under the tail pipe!

E85 Race Fue...Fox. Sounds like a supercharger under the hood when you drive hard enough

I never had backstrap, but I heard it's absolutely delicious. In fact, I only had venison a couple times overall, and loved it every time.

Venison is delicious, cheaper and more healthy than purchasing beef. Although I love me some ribeye and buffalo. Hell I'm a carnivore, that's why I started raising animals.

no reason to let it go to waste. better y'all eat it than coywolves and turkey vultures or whatever scavengers y'all have up there that do cleanup duties.......

nicely done Sir.
