Reasonably priced multi tool

Hi everyone, I was planning on buying a multi tool and I was wondering what you thought was the best reasonably priced one was (25%-75$)
Thanks

Leatherman Kick served me well. It has superior screwdrivers than the much more expensive Charge.

I second the Juice S2 and any Victorinox SAK. The problem with multi-tools is that it all comes down to preference. Buy one with the tools you use, and nothing else, if possible.
Also, welcome to Bladeforums.

 on the S2 and Vic, but the matter of choice is more complicated.

One of the things that happens when you tote one of these things is that a whole new fixit world opens, and maybe what at first you thought were enough implements may not provide what is needed on a project you hadn't expected. That happened to me when, after half a lifetime of carrying scout pattern and SAK knives, I was introduced to pliers based m-ts. That one additional tool expanded my capabilities to the point where pliers have become a priority item for any multi-tool in my EDC. Over time, I have used every blade and implement on my several Leathermen and glad to have had them when needed.

Instead of going minimal, I would advise getting a full featured multi-tool. That way, you can learn from hands on experience what you need and can do without, and adjust accordingly. If you buy carefully, it won't cost much to swap around, and it's possible you may keep more than one for different purposes. Just don't go berserk and end up like half the folks here with too many (as if :D .)

I had the same question - I need another, and am wondering if I should duplicate, or find something new.

+2 on the Kick, primarily because it's the only true Leatherman I own. It's never let me down (unlike some off-brand ones, where the pliers no longer line up on use #2.) I also find it hard to believe that handy, hefty tool lives in the tiny pouch it comes with.

I also recommend the SOG PowerPlier. Very comfortable, powerful pliers, and the chisel-ground blade is the first one I've ever literally split a hair with. It may not be a LM, but I got it for about $30, which makes it a serious bargain. Although I've only used it a couple times, it seems built for the long haul.

Based on responses here, I'll probably pick up a Juice S2 to complement my Vic SAK, just so I can try out as many as possible.

Depends on what u are going to use it for...
I agree that it's better not to get a 100 tools thing if u know u are just going to use a few, especially with SAK cause (personal opinion) if u get more than 3 lines of tools they lose a bit of comfort in use. I will suggest the ones I use most, assuming u will need them for the same tasks I use them for (note: I do not use a multitool for my job):
- as for SAK's, a Vic Tinker
- as for MT pliers, another vote for the Leatherman Kick.
U can get both for 40/50 usd shipped I guess.

My only issue with the Kick is that the tools don't lock. Move up to the Fuse and you get locking tools and an additional measure of safety.

Considering the quality, I consider the Victorinox multi-tools to be reasonably priced. They have several models under $75.

The LM Wave can be had in your price range.Another really good one for even less is the LM Blast.

For full size multitools I'd pick Leatherman Wave or Victorinox Swisstool Spirit. The Wave is more suitable for urban environment, the Spirit (X or S model) is better for the outdoors / bushcraft.

Hi,

The Leatherman Blast has been my EDC for most of the past two years. Great tool selection, comfortable and has held up well. Price is right as well. I have quite a few Leatherman tools as well as other brands. This is the one I carry the most.

Best - Joe

Leatherman is coming out with two new multitools soon that are specifically targeted at the sub $30 range and both look pretty solid. The Wingman and Sidekick

Tool: Juice CS4

Task: Dinner preparation. Peppers sliced, safety seal wraps removed, beer bottles opened

Performance: Very good.

Rating: 8 of 10. (2HO subtracts 1 point and lack of pocket clip subtracts 1 more)

anything in the juice line you can get 40-60 and they are the perfect edc multi-tool. i suggest cs4.
