Reasonably priced multi tool

Instead of going minimal, I would advise getting a full featured multi-tool.

I think that is only true if you're going to carry the full size MT. I won't so I carry the lighter Juice. It really depends on what you are doing and how hard you're going to use it.

I noticed this a while back...Bass Pro Shops has the Leatherman Blast for $34.97...thats only $5 more than the Kick there and for some strange reason its $10 less than the Fuse. They list it as a "new" product. Don't know if its an introductory price or what. I have a store close to me and thought about checking it out in person some time. Its obviously heavier than the Kick but for the price it sounds like a good deal as long as shipping isn't too much.

Somebody let me know if I'm missing something about their pricing.

Leatherman has multiple offerings in your price range. It would really just depend on what you use it for most often, and how big or small of a tool you want to carry.
The ones I always recommend to friends buying their first multi-tool are the Leatherman Kick, Blast,and Wave.
All can be had in your price range and all have an excellent warranty,fit and finish,and a good reputation for holding up and getting the job done.
Just my 0.02 though YMMV
