I have never tried a Reate folder but the Horizon C seems to look really nice. I wonder if those who have owned both can offer some comparisons of it with ZT 0562cf (which I have and really like). There was one thread on this topic more than one year ago but with only four posts (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1258132-ZT-0562cf-vs-Reate-Horizon-C). Please keep the politics aside as that is not something I'm concerned with. Thanks in advance.

Are you considering the ti version or the carbon fiber of the horizon?

I am specifically looking at Horizon C, which is full ti. Are you referring to Horizon D (which has a full ti version and ti/cf version)? I don't think the ZT is comparable to it due to the huge price difference.

Edit: BB beat me to it.

The c is a real nice knife. I have it in the stonewashed blue handles, it is so well made, I cant find anything I don't like about it.Flips real smooth, lockup is early, centered blade,i don't have a zt 562,been tempted to get one, just not a big fan of 2 different kinds of scales.

I don't have a Horizon C, but I have a Horizon A, Horizon B and a Horizon D-CF alongside a ZT0562 (G10/Elmax). I love the 0562, it's one of my favorite ZTs, but it's a definite lower level of knife compared to Reates for all the reasons Blues said.

If you want to really be mindblown, pick up a Reate Hills at $160 and see how much quality for the dollar is in that knife!
