I have a Large Regular Native American and would like to know if CRK do reblade Regulars, I could ask them, but it's weekend and well most of knowledge lurks around here anyway ;)

I want to go for a Damasteel Blade, I am used to the stonewash and due to the fact I use my blade for nearly every cutting chore, there's alot of fingerprints and stuff on the polished blade, I clean the blade after every job but well... is there's a chance? and how much will that be?

Im pretty sure they will, as for your blade choice its a long wait I hear...buddy of mine has wore out 3 or 4 blades in his sebenza he sends it back and they put in a new one for him.

Not to derail the thread, but how in the world do you "wear out" a blade?

He's cutting those cinder blocks wrong. Tell him to get one of these and save the Sebbie:

:D

CRK will reblade a regular sebenza. They still make the regular sebenza annuals, so they have plain blades blades. They will do damascus, but there is like a 1 year wait and the price for the blade is in the $250 range. They get their blades from Devin Thomas and are Stainless Steel Damascus wich is one of the best knife steels I have ever seen.

The wear on my EDC large regular Seb on top (compared to a new large regular Seb on bottom) is the result of 11 years of use and sharpening.

I use, but don't abuse -- the right tool for the right job. :) Frequency of use -- often don't cut a thing for a week, then all of a sudden there's a big box breakdown task, a fishin' trip, a carving job, or the like. Because of the high hollow grind that Chris likes to put on his knives, the cutting edge is of useful thickness for a lot of errosion of the blade (relative to flat ground . . .). I can see how had I used my Sebenza on the job on a daily basis, I'd have this kind of wear after less than a year.

Well, I knew that sharpening would alter the blade over time but crackerjax mentioned that his buddy has gone through 3+ blades...now how do you do that?

I don't understand how the blade is so badly worn down, yet the thumb lug is still blue... You must be over-sharpening it.

Either that, or he only opens it when he needs it and then proceeds to use the heck out of it.

Hes a farmer uses the knife for picking his crops and its a very old sebenza early 90's I think. Must be in due in part of the acid and everyday sharpening

You cannot post this and NOT expect me (a fellow knife nut and worker on farms) to ask for PICTURES!:confused::D

I will have to ask him if he still has the old blades if so next time I see him I will take a photo

So if my regular blade is wore out im out of luck... Bummer

I guess i am out of luck too if I blunt the tip or something. I guess CR warranty doesn't mean much. Especially if they continue to change up the blade shape meaning one day all of our knives will be unrepairable. That really stinks since I plan to pass down several CRK's that will be used and still new in box.

I wouldn't say the warranty doesn't mean much. I am sure that CRK would warranty and replace your blade.....just with a 21 profile blade. You just cannot get the regular blade profile any longer as it is out of production, but I doubt they would say you were out of luck if anything happened to your regular.

This makes sense and would be similar to many firearms manufacturers that will warranty an older firearm and if they do not make the model any longer, or have introduced an updated version, will give an equal replacement.

Heather asked me to convey the info, that if there's a warranty case with a regular blade they will of course take care of you

so no worries about using these beautific regulars
