I've had a Recon Tanto for about 8 years, and it's been abused extensively. A couple of years ago I took it on a caving trip where it got nasty, muddy and wet. I stuck it in the garage and forgot about it (I know, shame on me.) About a year later, I dug it up under a pile of junk and rust had gotten under the coating where years of hacking had worn some off. It was pitted and nasty. It sat around for awhile, until recently when I decided that I wouldn't let the old knife go down like that.
After extensive sanding, polishing and a new handle, she is reborn. Now I just need to get ahold of Eric and get a new sheath.
Sorry about the crappy picture, but I took this in my garage with my little Elph.
