rebuilding a flip knife

I recently took apart a flip knife, the u shaped spring popped out before I could see the orientation, can anyone tell me how this spring should be reinstlled?

What's a flip knife? I've not heard of one those before?

I think that he means a switchblade.

without pictures and just going on a good guess, the spring kicks outwards. Does it slide in, or is there a few holes in it for the pins?

After a few beers I was able to figure out the orientation thanks anyway.
