I am looking for a good folding knife on the larger side. These are the thing it must have:
-under $100
-blade length ~3.5 inches+
-decent steel (especially for rust resistance)
-Good lock that is strong (no liner locks unless they are really good)
-adequite traction plan
-preferably not made in China

I am currently considering the Spyderco Endura. Made in Japan is a decent amount better than made in China, and the steel sounds good. If anyone know as a better knife that fits my description please tell me.

Spyderco Stretch would also be good, one of the Spydies I always thought of as a brilliant design. Cold Steel Lawman, Recon 1, Voyager, etc. also work if Taiwan is ok.

Spyderco Military can be found in the exchange for about $100

What do you plan on doing with this knife? Daily carry? Into the woods? Fishing? Defense? Cutting what mostly?
How you plan on using it could lead to different choices.

Any of the Spydercos mentioned above are very good knives, as is the Buck 110 if you like something a bit more traditional. Also on the traditional side, the Queen Mountain Man is worth a look. Benchmade have a good range of decent sized folders.

Ontario/Hossom Retribution.

I got a new Spyderco para 2 s30v digi cam from a forum supported vendor for 96$. I also was able to snag the excellent Spyderco Manix 2 Xl for 94$...

I too would recommend taking a hard look at the Stretch. I find the blade profile more becoming than the Endura, but that's just personal preference for the most part. Very reminiscent of the old Hunter model.

Spyderco Endura, Stretch, and Para2 are great choices but for something larger maybe a CS Voyager L or XL

Spyderco para2 or military , if you can find a para for under 100$ scoop it up you won't be sorry. IMO. SV30 steel and compression lock !!

Manix 2 XL is a great knife, and fits your bill.

Good call! I'd say it's a perfect match for the OP's wish list

under $100 check
~3.5 inches+ 3.86" = check
decent steel (SS) S30V = check
good strong lock Ball Bearing Lock = check
adequate traction plan DOUBLE CHECK
not made in China USA = check

Spend a few more bucks and get a mans knife! A Grayman Satu! Meets all your wish list except one minor one.
