Reccomendation my first buck knife

mcrow you got some good points there about Batoning etc. Knives are tools everyone has a purpose. Survival in the wilderness I'm just not fond of folders, For skinning a Deer or anything else I prefer a drop point VS a clip point not to damage internal organs when field dressing a deer & causing contamination of the meat. Its all what your comfortable with. I have no clue what he wants an for what purpose? Collecting? or Survival? or a everyday work knife? or Fishing & Hunting?. I know lots of people who only use a 110 for deer hunting. I prefer a skinner knife with a drop point and also carry my Wave Tool for sawing through the rib cartilage and for other survival purposes.

Are you going to use it? or just look at it? I mean collecting, what is its purpose for? that is the question.

I'd say the Buck 110 or 112 personally, as I do not see these knives being discontinued, and Buck has a *damn* good warranty.....but "REDCANOE" is right, these things can be habit-forming. I own 14 different Buck knives: (2) Buck 119 Specials (one is a cocobolo handle) (1) Buck 120 General (1) Buck 124 Frontiersman (7) Buck 110's (one a 110FG, daily carry, and a couple of limited make models) (1) Buck 112 Ranger (1) Buck 307 Wrangler stockman and (1) Buck 317 Trailblazer. They've recently started making the 120 and 124 again, and the 120 also now comes in a cocobolo handle!
