what are some BIG heavy duty folder reccommendations besides the obvious Striders and Ryans, where one doesn't have to get in line and years to get one..and the blades are thick and at least 3/5 inches long..

1. Kit Carson Model 4
2. Bob Dozier Work Horse
3. DDR Madd Max
4. Keith Coleman B-52
5. Pat Crawford Large Comabat Tanto (He even made one with a 9" blade before)
Or you could always get a Cold Steel Vaquero Grande and save the money for a real custom!

Take a look at Tom Mayo's TNT's in XXL. The top knife is almost 11' overall, and the middle one 10". That's a lot of Talonite and Titanium!!

I really like the blade grind on that middle one. Excellent.

I would second the recommendations for the Darrel Ralph Madd Maxx and the large TNT by Tom Mayo. Both of these are great, heavy duty knives.

thank you mr hossom for your glowing recommendation, the check is in the mail. The middle one is the TNT answer to the Strider guys who always hassle me about my "little bitty" knives..... 9.75" x 3/16" titanium slabs and .200" Talonite!!!!! Its a handfull.......I hope David is man enough to handle this thing!!!!!

again...the TNT's are lovely but i said READILY available..and while the middle Mayo WOULD be PERFECT..it is apparently not easily available..being a law enforcement officer on the east coast (beach) ..the thick talonite and titatium would be JUST the ticket..so Mr MAYO, how do i get one without my career coming to a close first!

you created the interest, now pleaseeee deliver..i will cancel both my Strider folder and munroe and lose the money!

I have a large folder being made for me by Ray Rogers. 4.5" BG42 blade and Ti handle.
Ray assures me it is one handfull of a knife.
Hoping to see it by summertime, I'll be sure to do a review when it arrives.

Aloha Tom!

I'll see you at the show Saturday morning. Any chance of those 2 larger folders to the top, or something similar in size being on your table? Mahalo/

I have gotten a lot of feedback about that middle one and so I am going to make it a standard model.....Beefy T. I thing two sizes will be in order...the super size as pictured and a smaller one that will be about 8.5" OAL. thanks

Jerome....nice pics!!

Great show in Oregon!!! I rode my motorcycle for 12 hours (7 of em in the rain) just to meet Mr Tom Mayo and pick up that HUGE knife that is in the midle of the pic at beggining of this post....The BEEFY T !!!!! WOW!!! This is an impressive knife!! Tom called me at my motel room friday nite and brought it over..when he handed it to me my eyes actually started to get misty
smile.gif
this thing is incredible! Jerome knows what I am talking about as do others who got to handle it...For those of you who are thinking about ordering one of these...do not hesitate!!! for those that already have one on order just based on the pics like I did you will be pleased!!!!!

Has Toms incredible smooth action..rides nice even for its size in my pocket...I will do more review later...just had to get on here and say something after that show...

Hi to Mitch and Jerome and all others I met this weekend!!! great time....

Oh yeah...I did see Mitch Striders folder...the BEEFY T is a definite contender,
actually surpasses it
biggrin.gif
( of course I am slightly biased) No offense Mitch!!
