Received a YCS and a beauty it is.

When additional funds become available, I'm ordering one. Because it's special. Because it was designed by my bro. Because it has to have "something" in it I can't describe but can feel. OK, because it's like tinnitis and I can't stop hearing it calling to to me.

Yeah, the spirit of the YCS comes through even in the pix. It's got a lot of both utilitarian ergonomic design and very important symbolism to it -- all the way down to that 7-pointed star keeper. I will be watching to see what the "plain" ones seem like. They won't be the same, but that may or may not be to the good for me. I do appreciate the inclusion of all the symbolism and the "decoration", but so far, I appreciate them mostly for the way they tie Yvsa's Cherokee heritage to the art and culture of the kamis. They don't get into my own skin in the same way. That does not make them any less valid. I can appreciate song, poetry, or art from "other" cultures and often do, but it isn't the same as being absorbed into the culture myself. I'm pretty willing to assimilate to cultures that I didn't grow up in, but I haven't made the critical steps (yet

) in this one.

I'll keep watching, listening and learning.
