It was a banner day today! There I was at my work bench working on a customer's Uzi, when the receptionist come back with a long triangle shaped box.(We all know what that means !) So the Uzi was put on hold while I drooled. This is the second Khukuri I have by Sher. It's outstanding! I personally don't think you can buy a "bad" knife from Uncle Bill. Everything I've gotten has been first rate! And as far as the customer service? There's none better, anywhere, period! Thanks Uncle!
Pappy,
I totally agree that they're a great tool. I've been going nuts buying them like they're going out of style. I just can't seem to get enough of them.
I've been a big fan of the Gurkha soldiers since I was in the Infantry when I was a kid(way back when)and always wanted a "real" Khukuri. Now that I've found Uncle Bill and HI a long time wish is being fulfilled, and then some!
A lot of old military folks get the khukuris and say, "where were you when I really needed you?" But at least we got a few to troops of Desert Storm and a few to Afghanistan. I don't like to brag too much but the HI khukuris are a hell of a lot better than standard mil issue stuff.
I'll second that Bill. That only knives that I have are a 12in USMC bowie and an HI 18in WW2. After using the WW2 I have a hard time thinking of anything that the bowie is actually good at. I'll tell you this though, it is good at being neglected .
