Received my 21inch Chitlangi a couple minutes ago

Oh, I missed that. Thanks for pointing that out, and for the information.

Yup, ndog called it. It's made by Lachhu Kami and it is a gelbu special. Named so after Aunties brother.

Speaking of which, on this beautiful piece and all its qualities, I like how he aligned the bolster's "seam" with the top of the spine.
On many of my kuks, that seam seem to be randomly placed.

Question for the experts, can someone reminds me how this seam is called?
(Forgive my English)

It's the brazing joint where the bolster is brazed together.
I keep forgetting to suggest that the kamis put it on the underside of the blade because of other issues/things. It does seem to be a bit randomly placed sometimes and I think it won't make such a difference if it was put on the underside.

Thank you all for the comments and warm welcome. I haven' t been able to leave this blade out of my sight. It's always within arm reach and I unsheathe it constantly to look at it.

Glad to hear knife arrive safe , thank you for the kind words

That's one lovely Gelbu Special. I had one years ago, it was quit the slicer/brush blade. If it has a thin keen edge like mine did, it's going to be wicked!
