OK, I received both the BRG Delica and Endura 4's PE in ZDP-189 and all I can say is WOW! I am very impressed with all the improvements that were made to these knives. They seem so much more substantial than their predecessors. My last Delica was purchased about 5-6 years ago in VG-10 and the new one is light years ahead of the old in design.
I particularly like the addition of the liners (I am assuming they are some grade of SS). The FRN handles are much better than their ancestors in both design and function and the pocket clip now has four different mounting options. The BRG almost looks black / green, a nice change from tactical black.
The addition of the torx screws make it now possible to break the knife down for cleaning. The lockback is solid as ever. The ZDP blades came hair popping sharp (literally the sharpest that I have ever had out of the box). I also like the modified tips - they appear to be a lot stronger.
The Delica will now be my EDC. It is just the perfect size / weight ratio that begs to be carried. You really get a lot of bang for your buck with these knives. Time will tell if the ZDP was worth the $20 or so premium over the VG-10 models, but first impressions tell me that it was well worth it.
Funny, I have always been a slipjoint (case stockman, queen etc.) EDC carrier, but these spyderco's are making me go modern.
I would highly recommend these two - they are classic spyderco's that have morphed into near perfection with all the latest improvements.
