Recent Buy : Spyderco "Spur" G2 Stainless

I can't speak of the price, but the Spur was the knife that got me into Spyderco(eventhough it wasn't my first one) and I think it's the best little big knife they offer. I used mine at work for a couple of years and it saw everything for cutting firehose to cutting inch-thick rubber mats with no difficulties.
Great knife:thumbup:

The Spur is one tremendously underrated and under-appreciated model. It's a fantastic cutter and is especially well-suited for hunting applications. With all of that said, you paid a pretty hefty price for that knife but one that was pretty close to it's original retail.

There has been a "new old stock" hoard of Spurs that was discovered and are now filtering onto eBay. Seems like about every week there is a new-in-the-box Spur being offered - most of them by the same dealer. I picked one up a few months ago on eBay for about $65. The original Spur was a short-lived model. Only one run of 1200 pieces was made. There were some financial difficulties in producing it as well as the fact that it was pretty much a duplicate of the C04 Executive model. If you compare the two, the handle shapes are nearly a spot-on match. In 2004, the Spur was done as a Sprint Run without the Kraton on the clip. And on the Sprint Run knife the Kraton on the handle was gray in color instead of black.

Given the limited production of the Spur, I foresee prices on them continuing to rise. Now is definitely the time to be putting them away. Carry it, use it, enjoy it. The C32 Spur is one of Spyderco's finest designs. In another week you won't miss the money, but you'll never regret picking up this Spur.

Thanks for the replies. If the knife is as described I will be happy with this purchase. I like the blade profile and think
this might make a decent EDC knife.

The Spur is a beautifully shaped knife and one of my favorites. Once I saw it, I knew I wanted to get this knife. I had trouble finding the plain edge and luckily was able to find one. Then I came across three more that I couldn't pass up on.

Since manufacture dates were mentioned, the one at the top has a manufacture date of 1/2005 and the three numbered below of 5/2004 based on the date codes on the boxes.

The Spyderco "Spur" arrived last evening, and the seller described this knife accurately. Even though the dimensions were listed, the actual size of the knife surprised me: it is smaller than I expected. Upon further consideration I now think the Spur is about ideal for one looking for an unobtrusive EDC that still can handle serious use. I'll probably never own a Rolex watch, but this is the knife equivalent, in my opinion.
