Every time I come here to post something I get distracted by all the fantastic work everyone's doing. We're surely living in the golden age of cutlery! That said, I offer my modest efforts with a bit of chagrin, since everyone else's work is so freakin amazing. I posted a couple of these knives in Shop Talk but thought I'd put them out here too.

Thanks for looking, you folks have a great weekend!

Very nice work and all good functional designs for intended purpose.
Especially liked the first piece, however was wondering why you didn't use the small or large pins rather than both?

Dave, Hope your busy out in the shop. Glad to see your out of your knife making funk. If I were to pick a favorite I'd have to vote for the middle one although all 3 have a very unique look. Keep it up!

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement gents. It came at a good time, because I was having one of those days when the FUF was hanging around my shop -- I chose the better side of reason and quit while I was ahead! :D Tomorrow's another day.

Kevin, it's just a design issue and nothing more. That does seem to work better on darker material than this though, for whatever reason. I don't know how I'm ever going to learn enough to do this right! I will keep learning though. ;)

Thanks again,

Nice work, Dave.
All three:thumbup:, the Bird and Trout is my favorite.

that desk knife is beautiful. It looks just right to my eyes:thumbup:.

Thank you all! That's a nice thing to wake up to, particularly since my day in the shop was so dreary yesterday, and I'm headed that way again as soon as I get my jump-start quota of coffee. The first thing I thought when I opened my eyes and put my feet on the floor was that I hoped I wasn't such a doofus down there today... :D So this was timely encouragement.

Thanks again,

Thanks Dave.
I'm often curious as to why makers do things a certain way and I'm not implying it's right or wrong. More just wondering if its for a specific reason or just trying something new or experimenting with creativity.

Again, very nice knives.

Dave nice batch of knives. I'm pleased to see what you did with the damascus I sent. That was only a small piece but you used it to good effect.

I even got into the shed myself today no good knives just an hour on the wire letter openers. I am inspired to get stuck into some damascus I have on the bench now.
stay happy
Reg

Reg you make me happy! I wish you could have seen the bird and trout, just because it has so much of you in it. Anyway. Thanks and have a great day in the smithy yourself.

PS - I got our collection of Reg Ellery stuff together again for a few minutes of joy a couple of weeks ago (wasn't easy; Jeanie has claimed a lot of it). We're blessed. Thanks for all you do man.

Dave I like all 3 knives But I love what you did with the handle on the first one. very cool.
