I went for a bit of a hike today but instead of the usual scenery shots I thought I'd take a few of recent kit additions.

My Swiss Spirit....I never used to carry a multi-tool but I just love this, the handles are the most comfy I have found on a Multi-tool....

My Paramo hat/balaclava/neck gaiter.....yeah you look a bit of a freak but it's a real versatile bit of kit that takes up very little room, provides just the right amount of warmth on a cool winter day and can be vented at the top!

And some will have seen this before it's my cheapo stash knife....

If you out and about and have a sore throat/ cold, look for this Licorice Fern...

If you pull up it's root, shown below, and boil it up in some water to make tea or even just chew raw at a push, it will cure your sore throat and if you also add some pine needles they will give the tea Vit C and make a great cold fighter....it even tastes good !!!

And before anyone asks, of course Maisy came along !!!

Pitdog,

I have a baclava/hat thing I keep in pack too. It sold as a "Head Sock". The thing is so hot that it has to be danged cold (like Liam Ryan cold) to wear it, so it is perfect for a psk. Cool pics!

My wife just got me a head gaiter for Christmas for riding my bicycle to school. Being able to keep your face warm, and block the wind, really helps. You can be as warm as you want but if your face is exposed, you can still be miserable, at least for me anyways.

I wear ski goggles while biking in the winter (I bike all winter) they add that little extra bit of comfort to a balaclava (though you lose a bit of peripheral vision).

I like that swiss tool. Gonna have to look into getting one. I have the smaller cousin to your buck.

That's a good idea, but sunglasses seem to work well enough for me. But, I'm in California, not Canada ::Burrr::

I just gave a mask that looks just like that to my dad yesterday since he left this morning to go back to work in canada. Sounds like it will come in handy.

I had the little buck also but I gave it to a good friend, nice knife for the $$$$. Nice Pics, What kind of camera do you use ?

I was thinking of getting one until I read your post, now I have to get one.:D
That swiss tool looks great too, I can't imagine vic making a bad product.

I think Longbow is correct about the buck, I have a smaller drop point buck as well, very handy and comfy in the hand.
Looks like this except with a very good plastic sheath.
