I have a Large Sebenza 21 clone that I'd like modified, smoother action, replace washer with higher quality parts or bearing system.

Which knife makers do you recommend for this type of work?

The knife is otherwise fantastic, but for the difficulty in opening it with one hand.

Oh, and my response in advance....because I couldn't afford a real one!
 
You got a clone but basically want the improvements that the actual one has
 
Pro tip: you're going to get a lot of tips to not buy a clone in the first place.

Yep, there are a bunch of knives that would likely hold an edge longer, be built to a higher standard, smoother and possibly even safer than a counterfeit/fake.

Spend your honestly earned dollars on an honest knife company.

As for your posts questions, I couldn't offer any suggestions because we don't know anything about the knife.
What is the pivot diameter?
Who knows if the bolts will strip out on you.

Good luck with Customer service if they do.
 
I'll just go out on a limb and say you will not find your answer here. Any respectable knife maker/enthusiast would never assist in the upgrading of a counterfeit, fake, copy, clone, or ripoff of a Sebenza. Your money would be far better spent on maybe a Rat 1 or 2 or Spyderco Tenacious.
 
I agree with above but I will also give useful advice, moral objections to copies aside.

Upgrading what you want won't help it much if at all. The tolerances and materials just aren't what a real one is.

If you want a very very good knife at an affordable price, stick with a spyderco, benchmark, etc. There are tons of options at a lower price point. Then save that money that you would have paid a knife maker (who probably wouldn't touch it anyway) and put towards a real sebenza. Trust me, it's a world of difference and you won't regret it.
 
Stop being cheap and buy a real one ya get what ya pay for. By the time you deal with all the bs to make a clone better I bet your 100 less the a original do the math wtf

You could go to knife making places and get some new or better washers. It will take more effort for a bearing system. I wouldn't mod it any more than that, I would save up and get a Spyderco, Rat, Benchmade, kizer, Reate, etc.
