Recomendation

Well John, you know me and my old school ways, but you asked!

Colt 1908 POCKET HAMMERLESS,
Original Remington 51, (not the newer one!)
Mauser HSc
FN 1910 (for all you striker fired fans),
Browning 1955 (updated 1910),
Beretta 85FS single stack (Cheetah)
Savage 1907 (coolest looking, art deco gun ever! also another 100 year old + design, STRIKER FIRED PISTOL)
Walther ppk/s

yes, they are all available only on the used gun market.

all that said:
lightweight 2" 38 0r 32 revolver revolver for folks that don't shoot much or practice often

I have jacked chambered cartridges out of to many unloaded autos ("!) to recommend them to neophytes

Yes, I have owned all of the above except the Savage (looking for a deal on one), liked them all. The Remington 51 I had was actually a .32 cal version

I would love to have a Colt 1903 .32 -- those were sexy little pistols.

Connie had a single stack Beretta a few years back. Becky is not really a novice shooter, I started all my girls at around 9 years old on my Single Six, then moved them to a Taurus 94, then to a 4" .38. My personal choice would be an all steel 2" barrel .38, but you know how this modern generation is!

just one other thought you might want to consider is the Walther PK380 ... I have not owned one but have shot one on a few occasions a friend has one. Its a pretty nice lil gun very ergo friendly and easy to shoot ... I havent experienced any issues nor has my friend told me of any. Just another thought for the list if she may have an opportunity to rent and shoot one.

Hope we see pics

I'll get them up eventually...when I 'm patient enought to fight with posting pictures I do have a semi-progress snapshot with the mini Rule #9.

It's good to know there are still fans of classics out there - the Savage 1907 is one of my favorites!

Another one that I want to own some day is a CZ83 either in .380 or .32, but they seem to be in collectors' hands these days...should also add that I'd recommend the CZ, assuming it is built like and shoots like the 82 Mak.

Does anyone have experience with the Browning 1911 .380 Black Label?

Jeff

Connie rented the scaled down Browning 1911 style .22 LR. It had serious feed issues with several brands of ammo.

I have a Sig 1911-22 and it is a joy to shoot. It feels just like a standard 1911 except for the recoil. I haven't had an issues with it yet.

My brother had the Kimber .22 years ago, very nice. We tested quite a few .22 pistols when Connie was looking for one. She decided on an S&W M&P Compact .22.
