There are a lot of choices in this category at the moment, so you're spoilt for choice. Assuming you're looking for a production folder, these are the ones I'd buy if I was looking for a gent's folder (ordered by price):
BM330 Mel Pardue @ $65
Blade 2.3" ATS34, weighs only 1.4 ounces. The handle is a little wierd but its a great little knife. The pictures on the web don't show how tiny it really is.
BM855 / BM856 Pardue @ $65
Blade 2.8" ATS34. Aluminium (855) or G10 (856) handles. Good working knives. If you want something larger than the BM330, try this one.
BM850 Mel Pardue @ $150
Blade 2.75" ATS34. Terrific looking knife with anodized titanium bolsters and ivory micarta scales.
William Henry T10 Lancet @ $220
Available with either fishtail oak or amber jigged bone. Carbon fibre version with no bolsters costs about about $30 less. If money is no objection, this is THE production gent's folder to get. I have sworn to get one myself ever since I saw one.
I don't really consider the Umfaan and small Sebenza as production knives as their cost ($300) approach custom knives. They are beautiful looking and great handling knives by the way and fully the equal of many customs. I've a small sebenza and never regreted the buy (even when i had to busk for quarters at the rail station
)
Of course if you had just struck the lottery or something there's always Kaj Embretsen's damascus masterpieces which start at over $1000...
